Why We Love It

Seña was conceived as Chile’s first icon wine — a collaboration between Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi, created to showcase the country’s potential for world-class reds. Since its debut in 1995, it’s become a benchmark for elegant, age-worthy blends from the Aconcagua Valley.

The 2012 vintage is a standout: a poised and powerful wine blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Carmenère, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Deep in colour and layered in flavour, it delivers cassis, blackberry and plum with savoury undertones of cedar, tobacco and graphite. Silky tannins and fresh acidity give it finesse, while time in bottle has brought added harmony and depth.

At over a decade old, this wine is now in a beautiful place — complex, expressive, and still full of life. A compelling piece of modern Chilean winemaking history.

Important Notes on Cabinet Wines

Many of the wines we sell in the Cabinet are from old vintages. Ageing can have truly wonderful effects on wine. Those effects are influenced by a range of factors, both within and outside the bottle, meaning two bottles from the same vintage may have different profiles. If you are new to older wines — and if so, welcome! — please keep in mind that you may encounter a range of flavours and aromas not found in younger wines.
