This wine hails from Kakheti, Georgia’s most celebrated winemaking region and a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin). Located in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, Kakheti’s diverse soils and long sunny days have made it the heartland of Georgian viticulture for centuries. While best known for ancient qvevri traditions and amber wines, Kakheti is also home to modern expressions—like this brut—that showcase local varieties in a fresh, precise light.
Telavi Wine Cellar—also known simply as Marani—is one of Georgia’s most respected and internationally recognised wineries. Founded in 1915 and modernised in the 1990s, they blend heritage and innovation, championing both native and international grapes. Head winemaker Zviad Chkhaidze has been instrumental in elevating the estate’s profile abroad. Their Premium Brut is crafted using the traditional method, with second fermentation in bottle and lees ageing for complexity. The estate is committed to eco-conscious viticulture, with many vineyards adopting sustainable practices and certifications like ISO 22000 and HACCP to ensure quality and care from vine to glass.
